IT Policy

What is the IT Policy?

IT policies dictate the rules, procedures explain how these same rules are practically applied in real life. Taken as a collective, policies and procedures set expectations for behaviors and activities, as well as provide mechanisms to enforce these expectations (“IT Policies and Procedures Definition,” n.d).

Why it is important?

The IT policy is important because it is a set of rules and guidelines on how IT resources should be used and how daily operations should be conducted. The policy serves as a protocol and reference created by IT professionals in the IT department to provide guides for successful operations.

Do IT managers have to know it?

The IT policy is one of the tools that the IT manager should well known for it. The role of IT policy is to define rules and suggest guidelines of how IT resources should be used in organization, and how daily operations should be conducted.
